Fave Random Tweet - June 27

Fave Random Tweet - June 27

Today we decidedly, randomly, and perhaps quixotically, to go hunting for unicorns.
We found many one horns in the Twitterverse today, but only one worth shooting and then tagging before letting it run free.

It was the tweeticorn of this fine Twitterer:
For those who have asked, it is unclear whether the unicorn is "real" though I suspect my mother will attempt to gold-leaf it regardless.

So many things to love in this Tweet.

The fact that Ms. King is answering those who must have asked from a previous tweet, if the unicorn is real. Or as Rita says, "real." For isn't that the question so many of us have had at one point in our life? Are unicorns real? Or must we make do with those godawful colored ponies some animation company designed?

And from this question we can ask - is our fantasy world valuable, or will our parents just cover it with "gold-leaf," forcing us to leave our childhood delights and focus on worldly success... regardless?

One wonders from this tweet if Mama King has an interior design fetish for gold leaf as well. Perhaps she was so enamored of King Midas, she seeks to emulate him in a lesser form. Perhaps Rita was but one step away from being covered in gold herself. Perhaps she has neighbors with the last name of Goldstein, Goldfarb, Goldberg, and she wants to blend in?

We can't know from this one tweet, but we can imagine, while riding our unicorn.
